The Ülker Nicosia Marathon, organized to keep the names of the Champion Angels alive and to bring the Champion Angels Education Campus to Northern Cyprus, was held on October 22, 2023. DND family also ran for Champion Angels in the marathon. During the February 6 earthquakes in Turkey, the pain of 35 people consisting of students, teachers and parents of the Famagusta Turkish Maarif College girls’ and boys’ volleyball teams, who lost their lives as a result of the collapse of the Isias Hotel where they were staying in Adıyaman, has not subsided. DND Cyprus family also took part in the marathon where thousands of people came together as one.
The marathon, which included two separate 10 and 21-kilometer runs as well as a 4-kilometer public run, was started by Nicosia Turkish Municipality President Mehmet Harmancı. 62 male and 13 female runners took part in the 21 kilometer category. The 10-kilometer run was organized in cooperation with the TRNC Athletics Federation. In the Nicosia Marathon, which is the first marathon internationally approved by IAAF and AIMS in Northern Cyprus, the track degrees of the competitors were determined by the chip system. In the 4-kilometer public run, the whole country took to the streets for the Champion Angels.
